Mermaid Beach’s unpretentious counter serves house-made Cantonese dim sum alongside crisp banh mi and Aussie bakery classics. Tradies fill the doorway around smoko—an easy tell for the quality and low prices. Behind the glass, oversized shumai packed with water chestnuts steam beside warm char siu bao, flaky curry puffs, and sausage rolls. Regulars grab a bolo bao split with cold butter and a bag of hot dim sims before heading to the sand five minutes down the road. Parking sits tucked around the back of the building.
