How should I plan a Gold Coast theme park day in early December?

I am visiting before Queensland state school summer holidays begin. Can I count on short queues, and what would make the day easier?

Queensland's published school term dates help identify the main holiday period, but an earlier week is not a promise of quiet rides. Check the relevant park's calendar, opening hours and any announced events for your exact date.
