A good question.
A local answer.

Use the current journey planner from your exact accommodation to Harbour Town; the trip may involve a tram and bus or a bus connection. Check the return service before shopping.

If dates are fixed, visit the biggest attraction on a weekday and book early. Keep a beach or pool day flexible for weather and crowd levels.

Check weekday traffic and any current M1 works for your travel date. An early departure gives more margin than aiming to reach the airport exactly when bag drop opens.

Check daylight and the actual drive from each town to the highway. A beach stop is less fun if it leaves several hours after dark.

Keep the afternoon low-effort with a meal and short beachside walk if the weather suits. Set the airport departure time from the airline's check-in requirements.

Build in a cafe break and a flexible return. If pain or weather changes the plan, a shorter scenic drive is still a worthwhile outing.

Start early enough for daylight and allow extra time for photos, snacks and a child's pace. Wet steps and rainforest paths can be slippery even when the coast is sunny.

Surfers Paradise offers a busier central feel, while Broadbeach can suit a more relaxed dining and beach routine. Map your theme-park transfers from each property.

A casual cafe or surf club can be easier than a full-service restaurant when a toddler is tired. Check membership or sign-in rules, meal hours and accessibility before going.

A counter seat or outdoor table can feel comfortable for a solo meal. Choose a busy, well-lit return route if you expect to finish late.

Check the local council's current event and road-closure information closer to the date. A beachfront location may be busier than expected even if your hotel is nearby.

Review ride height rules and the park's map with the children beforehand. Let them skip thrill rides without making the whole day feel like a compromise.
